Some of the important formulas for linear differential equation are listed below:-

1. Integrating factor (I. F.) = $e^{\int pdx}$
2. To obtain solution of linear equation, we multiply both sides of given equation by I. F.
3. $\left( e^{\int pdx} \dfrac{dy}{dx} + py \, e^{\int pdx} \right) = \dfrac{d}{dx} \left(y.e^{\int pdx} \right)$
4. If linear differential equation is of the form $\dfrac{dx}{dy} + Px = Q$, where P  and Q are function of y alone or constant, then $I. F. = e^{\int pdy}$
